Memling's Portraits at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum: "The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is holding the 16th edition of its Contexts exhibition series in the new Contexts exhibition space through 15 May 2005. On this occasion the subject selected is Memling Portraits. Sponsored by Banco Urquijo, the exhibition is organised by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in collaboration with the Groeningemuseum in Bruges and the Frick Collection in New York. Following its Madrid showing, the exhibition will travel to those two institutions: from 7 June to 4 September in Bruges and from 6 October to 31 December in New York. This is the first exhibition in the Contexts of the Permanent Collection series organised by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum to travel outside Madrid. "

Thailand trip takes on added meaning: "When a New Britain couple traveled to Phuket, spending three weeks on the small isle south of Thailand, they were impressed by the poignant graciousness of the Thai people, still remarkably evident in the weeks following the tsunami disaster.

Asian Hotels and Resorts Shine in inaugural WORLDHOTELS Awards
Guangzhou’s Garden Hotel along with The Furama Resort, Danang in Vietnam and Taiwan’s Ambassador Hsinchu Hotel scooped top honours in the annual WORLDHOTELS awards.
The new honours were announced in Hong Kong at the annual conference of the newly re-branded WORLDHOTELS, a global sales, marketing and distribution consortia for independent hotels and regional hotel groups.

Neu dabei in der höchsten Riege ist «Le Clos des Cimes» im kleinen Auvergne-Dorf Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid. «Ich bin überglücklich», jubelte der Küchenchef Regis Marcon im Interview des Radiosenders France-Info. «Ich betrachte das als eine Belohnung für 26-jährige Arbeit an diesem Ort.»
Das Kultbuch der französischen Gastronomie sollte in seiner neuen Auflage ursprünglich erst am 2. März veröffentlicht werden, kam aber versehentlich schon eine Woche vorher in den Buchhandel.

The show, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is expected to attract thousands of visitors, and will feature some of the world's most exclusive crafts. The 8,500 square meter exhibition area will accommodate 400 exhibitors from 30 countries in addition to 80 berths for boats ranging from 39ft to over 200ft, making it the premier networking event for buyers to access manufacturers of boats as well as companies offering related marine equipment and services."
